Halal Products / Produk Halal (Better Options, for Me)

Assalamualaikum..

Well said post title.
I basically switched to numerous different product brands that promise to be using ingredients that are halal. Why? personally, it has given me the sense of security. I mean, having to imagine that the lotion I am applying to my hands results from fat or oil from worms or swine makes me feel nauseous :p
So months ago, little by little I started purchasing products which were pretty new to me.. Oh just a reminder, most of the information mentioned here applies to products sold in Indonesia.

1. For hand and body lotion, I am currently using Citra or Vaseline body lotion. It was a bit shocking to find out that the latter brand was actually halal. In the past I often bought various random brands depending on the amount of money I owned, :-)
Vaseline does not use any animal ingredient and alcohol for its fragrance. So it is safe for us moslems. Well actually I have often used Vaseline for many years of my adult life, here's the details.

2. Shampoo.
This is tough. Before putting on hijab, shampoo was an important part of my monthly shopping list. I am always tricked by those shampoo commercials on TV. Then I found out form some magazine, that for actresses modelling for hair shampoo commercials, they must undergo a series of processes before actually shooting for the commercial. Some processes include: shampooing their hair and applying hair conditioner every single day, hair-creambathing, hair-masking, applying hair vitamin and serum, smoothening, and etc etc.

I once used lots of brands from Sunsilk (either the black or yellow one), Clear, Pantene, TreSemme (this is the best), Dove, Rejoice, HeadnShoulders (this is a temporary brand used only when my head itches or dandruffs pass by).. I can not name more since there are too many of them.
Dove, TreSemme, and HeadnShoulders shampoos have no guarantee that they're pork free.
I have switched to Natur shampoo now, it is halal and it doesn't use any chemical substances in it. Perhaps that is what makes it smell like that.

3. Face Moisturizer
As an Asian, honestly, I am one of those women out there who wishes to have a fairer skin. Don't judge me wrong, it is natural. Living in Indonesia, when you have dark skin, people see you as having done rough outdoor job and having coming from a low level class. That is the truth. Pathetic, I know.
However, for me, having fairer skin may mean a fresher look on the outside.
I used to purchase Olay or Ponds (any which could whiten or lighten skin-tone) moisturizer regularly.. I wasn't sure whether they're halal or not, I never really thought of it.

I have switched to Ponds Age Miracle now. I still want a fairer skin, but it is not a priority anymore. What i want is what this product promises, a ten year younger looking skin. Sometimes I use Hada Labo as well.
I am certain that aging is an illness that can never be recovered or healed. That is what Rasul said. Women wish to always look young, well at least my skin is moisturized most of the time :-)

4. Soap..
Let's start with this fact.
The following bar soaps ---> LUX, DOVE, OLAY, SAFEGUARD, JERGEN, DIAL, LEVER 2000 UNILEVER, ZEST --> No guarantee that Pork is not used. Pork is used when other sources are unavailable.

Now I am using Lifebuoy Barsoap or Shower Cream, only. No more Lux I guess :-)
