AKAR KEBODOHAN DAN AKIBATNYA

Assalamualaikum semuanya, semoga keberkahan selalu menyertai kita semua.

IS BELCUBES / LAUGHING COW CHEESE HALAL or HARAM

Assalamualaikum..

There is this one thing i started feeling unsure about. It all began when I was about to give Kei her belcubes cheese snacks or more familiarly known as laughing cow cheese. And did you know that in Indonesia some people call it keju sapi ceria? LOL.

This product is widely known in the UK, Canada, and Europe, but not necessarily in the US. There are there different flavors in the every package I have at home, unless you purchase the plain flavored only. I took one first without thinking about what flavor it was. Kei had her first one while I was reading through the ingredients and details all over the package.  I think it’s a French product. There is no Halal from MUI Indonesia stamp on any of the packages. The blue one is plain cheese flavor, the kind of peach colored one says ham, and the orange one is tomato flavored cheese. Kei had the ham flavored cheese, and then three other cubes.

I suddenly thought whether it was halal or not, especially the ham flavored one. So i decided to start googling about it, but there is various information. Some halal certification bodies in different counties say it is halal, but this product isn't listed on Indonesian Halal Certification Body (MUI). It really is confusing. I guess I need to discard the ham flavored cheese cubes, fearing that Kei could just open the fridge and eat all of them.

Oh yeah one interesting I found out. Kei’s new glasses her dad bought her the other day are in the fridge! I asked her to take them out and put them somewhere else, but she refused to do so. She preferred the fridge to be the best place for her pink glasses. Oh my. So when you open our fridge here, you can find eyeglasses among the regular stuff you can find in a fridge, haha.

Still, I have not enough information abut whether this product is halal or not, therefore I think it's better to avoid it for the mean time.

JANGAN BERSEDIH

Assalamualaikum, selamat pagi semuanya.

Jadikanlah dirimu seperti pohon kurma.

“... Ingatlah hanya dengan mengingat Allah hati menjadi tenang.” Surat Ar-Ra'd [13: 28]
La Tahzan (Jangan Bersedih)

MEDICINES OF THE HEART

Assalamualaikum my friends..

Praying for those who are not in a good condition, who aren't happy, who have been been disappointed. I pray Allah will always be with us all :)

I've been listening to songs by Maher Zain, and I love them all. I know i am kind of way tooooooo late to start listening to them, but hey it's better to be late than never, right.
There's also one really popular song sung by Opick, it's titled Medicine of the Heart. It talks about the five ways need to be made into habits when we want our life to always be peaceful. I love this one as well.

1. Read the Qur'an and meaning.
2. Be steadfast in conducting the Tahajood prayers (Night Prayer)
3. Gather with the pious ones.
4. Fast as often as possible.
5. Lengthen your night dhikr.

AN UNSEEN IMAGE IN OUR BEDROOM

Assalamualaikum dear blog readers...
It surely has been a while.
Been busy preparing myself for something that's coming ahead on just a few days. ANyways, i hope everyone is healthy, happy, and having a good time today :)

You know what Kei said to me last night while I was with her in our bedroom??
She said, "Mama, there is a man there."
I replied, "What man? Where?"
She responded, "There, pointing to the right corner of the ceiling."
I started feeling uncomfortable, but still I managed to ask another question, "What is he like?"
Kei answered, "The man is scary mom."
Arrrgghh I instantly burst out from the bedroom, leaving her by herself, and talked to my younger cousin who was watching TV in the living room. I was speechless, didn't know what to do.
A minute later, kei followed me and went towards me and started talking about "that man" and I started asking questions about other things she had seen.
Five or ten minutes later, we went back to the bedroom and my mouth started praying and mentioning Allah's name. I took Kei to bed, and my mouth was still busy saying the Ayat Kursi aloud, then continued to the three other prayers I always read before bedtime. Continuously.

It was not my daughter's first time telling me that there are other people around us. It doesn't happen very often either. Kei has ever mentioned that my late aunt was in the room above us while we were ready to sleep, also about a grandmother, that sort of stuff. But the one she mentioned last night kind of made me have goosebumps, i don't know why.

We, Muslims, believe the existence the unseen ones like the Jinn, Shaytan (evil), and also Angels- in Arabic Mala'ika, which means to assist and to help - in Indonesian we call them Malaikat , (but NOT the ones other beliefs characterize them with - in our belief, they are NOT God's children/daughters; they're also Allah's creations instead. Mala'ika / angels are created to worship Allah alone and carry out His commands. It is mentioned in Surah An Nahl (The Bee) - 16: 49-50.

"And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant. They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded. "

As unseen creatures made from light, angels have no specific bodily shape but can rather take on a variety of forms. The Qur'an does mention that angels have wings (Quran 35:1), but Muslims don't speculate on what exactly they look like. Muslims find it blasphemous, for example, to engage in making images of angels as cherubs sitting in clouds.

In Islam, there is no concept of "fallen" angels, as it is in the nature of angels to be faithful servants of Allah. They have no free choice to disobey. Unseen beings who do have free choice, and who are often confused with "fallen" angels, are called jinn (demons). The most famous of the jinn is Iblis, who is also known as Shaytan (Satan). Muslims believe that Satan is a disobedient jinn, not a "fallen" angel.

Regarding what my daughter had seen or thought she had seen or the image she made up the story about last night, I am sure it was either a Jinn or Shaytan trying to scare her.
Alhamdulillah she wasn't. I was, a bit. But then I said to myself that why I would have to fear another creation of God, I should be fearing the Creator, Allah only.
I hope Allah always protects my daughter and I and also my dearest ones, amin :]

TONGUE AND WHAT IT CAN DO TO US

Assalamualaikum....

How about trying to figure out this simple question?

Which part of our body is the least people care about but at the same time can bring danger to ourselves?

Our tongue.
Yes, our tongue inside our mouth. Hidden, secure, and is rarely touched unless there's something I find bothering in my mouth.
Here are some facts about this small yet the strongest body part :
Tongue is a structured muscles.
It has three primary roles : to speak, swallow, taste.
It is considered that a tongue swallows approximately 2500 times a day.
There are more than 10.000 taste buds on our tongue which renew themselves for 100.000 per second.
The taste sense works together with the smelling sense and they can recognize up to 4.000 distinct odors.
Subhanallah, praise Allah the Omnipotent as the only One who can create it.

Luqman al-Hakim after slaughtering a goat was once asked about which body parts are the best and the worst from its body?
He mentioned the heart and the tongue.
"Heart and tongue are good when they are good; They are bad when they are bad."

Prophet Muhammad once referred the tongue as the main factor that can bring human race disaster.
There are so many illnesses of the tongue :
  • speaking about useless things
  • talking about/gossiping about others
  • lying
  • praising without basis and / criticizing others
  • fighting, etc.
  • making promises we don't fulfill

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was asked about the deed which will be foremost to lead a man to Jannah.
He replied, "Fear of Allah and the good conduct."
Then he was asked about indulgence which will admit a man to Hell (Fire) and he answered,
"The tongue and the genitals." [At- Tirmidhi].

Naudzubillah, astaghfirullah.

Hopefully, Allah will always guide our tongue so as to always speak good words. Amin.

KEMATIAN ITU PASTI

Assalamualaikum.. Good morning great people

Dia meninggal dunia. Alhamdulillah, meninggalnya mudah sekali, nggak pakai cobaan berat sakaratul maut. Pasti almarhum seseorang yang banyak beramal baik, insya Allah dimudahkan jalannya menuju surga, amin.

Kalo ngomongin tentang kematian, bulu kuduk saya langsung merinding. Menyeramkan.
Membayangkan tentang kematian selalu membuat saya nangis.

Muslims' mandatory prayers are five times a day;  if they wish to do more, only Allah grants even much more blessings

Amin.

HATERS ARE GOING TO HATE; BELIEVERS ARE GOING TO BELIEVE

Assalamualaikum..May the All-Seeing and All-Knowing grant us health and joy on this beautiful Sunday morning. Good morning great people. Let us all feel happy enough to be able to look happy on the outside.

I found this saying a couple of minutes ago, and thought that it would be nice of us to have this kind of heart-protector to keep being tolerant to others.

It is obvious that many of us have put on a certain stigma or "image" to another person holding a different belief/religion from ours. Let us all look within first before pointing our fore finger to others; remember when we point at others, we actually still have four other fingers pointing at ourselves. So let's learn to not be judgmental.

On the internet, I have found and read sites of a number of haters of Islam or Islamophobics and they are pretty saddening. I mean, what's with that.
Their words can really be so mean. However, I understand that when a person detests you so much, there will only be negative remarks from them, no matter whether their opinion is true or not.

Well, I have no rights to put pressure on them or do even similar things to them. I went to one of these haters' personal account, and could understand her nasty comments since she sounded so depressed in all of her remarks in a site. And she is racist, as well. So, I figured that perhaps I need to step back from reading and wanting-to-know about what these Islamophobics think of my belief.
No need to be bothered.

Every individual is going to be judged for his words, actions, intentions, and deeds later on. I have already been so sinful, therefore I don't want to create more wrongdoings.

Okay then, I am taking Kei to a birthday party today. Hoping she'll have a good time there and let us all be thankful today :)

SAUS PEDAS TABASCO MENGANDUNG (DNA) BABI ?

Pagi semuanya, assalamualaikum..

Saya sih memang suka nambahin tabasco, walau memang bukan sebuah keharusan.

A WOUND IN A MUSLIM'S HEART

Hi guys,

I googled islam muslims europe.

I found out dozens of strangers' blogs and lots of them truly show and eagerly express their deep hatred for Islam and Muslims. I can only assume that some of the reasons for this is the 9/11 incident or the suicide bombers who are sure that they're performing Jihad in the name of Allah. One even mentions that being a Muslim is a sin itself.

I was speechless. To be honest, I mean I didn't know how to react since it is on the internet, anyone can write about whatever thoughts they have about anything or anyone.

Should I care about it? I don't think I should.
I barely know all those Islamophobics and have never seen them in person.
So why would I care?
But still, it seems that there is a cut in my heart.
It feels like a burdening wound.
Isn't it everyone's right to believe in something? And isn't it bad to judge others as villains without actually interacting with them in person?
I posted a comment in one of 'the haters' blog, I didn't mock nor come up with swear words.
"I only wrote, why is everyone full of hatred? hope we are all forgiven."
That's it.
I don't have the rights to complicate things especially when I think it will have no benefits. I also don't want to ruin my mood for such a thing.

“Many aspects of Islam are misunderstood by non-Muslims; due to ignorance, misinformation, and incorrect assumptions.” Today, Islam is surrounded by many misconceptions.
“It is unmerited to judge Muslims and Islam based on the actions of those who commit terrible crimes against Innocent people" as proof of the violent nature of Islam and Muslims.”

May we be forgiven for all the words we've said to hurt others, and for all our wrongdoings. God is the Most Merciful.

ISLAM, WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT ISN'T

1) "Islam" means "peace through the submission to God".

2) "Muslim" means "anyone or anything that submits itself to the will of God".

3) Islam is not a cult. There are more than 1.5 billion followers worldwide. Along with Judaism and Christianity, it is considered to be one of the three Abrahamic traditions.

4) There are five pillars of practice in Islam. These practices must be undertaken with the best of effort in order to be considered a true Muslim: A) Shahadah - declaration of faith in the oneness of God and that Muhammad is the last prophet of God. B) Formal prayer (shalat) five times a day. Conducting these five obligatory prayers  show that you are a muslim. The first thing every Muslim will be asked about once s/he dies is these five prayers. If a muslim maintains these, then Insha Allah his/her journey in the hereafter life will be easier. C) Fasting during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan.  D) Poor-due "tax" - 2.5% of one's savings given to the needy at the end of each year. E) Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once, for those who are physically and financially able.

the pillars in Islam

5) There are six articles of faith in Islam. These are the basic beliefs that one must have in order to be considered a true Muslim. They are belief in: A) the One God. B) all the prophets of God. C) the original scriptures revealed to Prophets Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammad. D) the angels. E) the Day of Judgment and the Hereafter. F) the divine decree (or destiny).

6) Islam is a complete way of life that governs all facets of life: moral, spiritual, social, political, economical, intellectual, etc.

7) Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world. To become a Muslim, a person of any race or culture must say a simple statement, the shahadah, that bears witness to the belief in the One God and that Prophet Muhammad was the last prophet of God.

8) "Allah" is an Arabic word that means "God". Muslims also believe that "Allah" is the personal name of God.

9) Allah is not the God of Muslims only. He is the God of all people and all creation. Just because people refer to God using different terms does not mean that they are different gods. Spanish people refer to God as "Dios" and French people refer to God as "Dieu", yet they are all the same God. Interestingly, most Arab Jews and Arab Christians refer to God as "Allah". And the word Allah in Arabic appears on the walls of many Arab churches.

10) The Islamic concept of God is that He is loving, merciful, and compassionate. But Islam also teaches that He is just and swift in punishment. Nevertheless, Allah once said to Prophet Muhammad, "My mercy prevails over my wrath." Islam teaches a balance between fear and hope, protecting one from both complacency and despair.

11) Muslims believe that God has revealed 99 of His names (or attributes) in the Holy Qur'an. It is through these names that one can come to know the Creator. A few of these names are: the All-Merciful, the All-Knower, the Protector, the Provider, the Near, the First, the Last, the Hidden, and the Source of Peace.

12) Muslims believe in and acknowledge all the prophets of old, from Adam to Jesus. Muslims believe that they brought the message of peace and submission (islam) to different people at different times. Muslims also believe that these prophets were "muslims" because they submitted their wills to God.

13) Muslims neither worship Muhammad nor pray through him. Muslims solely worship the unseen and Omniscient Creator, Allah.
Those who lack of knowledge or even hate Islam / Muslims / Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) often think that Muslims’ God is Muhammad. NO, we don’t believe that Muhammad is God. Muhammad is considered as a person with the best traits and attitude; so we try to follow his teachings to be able to be good muslims.
14) Muslims accept the original unaltered Torah (the Gospel of Moses) and the original Bible (the Gospel of Jesus) since they were revealed by God. However, none of those original scriptures are in existence today, in their entirety. Therefore, Muslims follow the subsequent, final, and preserved revelation of God, the Holy Qur'an.
Muslims don’t believe the idea that God has a son nor God’s children are angels. God is able to do ANYTHING without needing help from anyone/anything, because He is God.

15) The Holy Qur'an was not authored by Muhammad. It was authored by God, revealed to Muhammad, and written into physical form by his companions. There is only ONE version of the Qur’an since 1.500 years ago.

16) The Holy Qur'an has no flaws or contradictions; There is not one single verse that contradicts another. The Holy Qur’an gives information about the past, present, and the future. The original Arabic scriptures have never been changed or tampered with.

17) Actual seventh century Qur'ans, complete and intact, are on display in museums in Turkey and many other places around the world.

18) If all Qur'ans in the world today were burned and destroyed, the original Arabic would still remain. This is because millions of Muslims, called Hafiz (or "preservers") have memorized the text letter for letter from beginning to end, every word and syllable. Also, chapters from the Qur'an are precisely recited from memory by every Muslim in each of the five daily prayers.

19) Muslims do not believe in the concept of "vicarious atonement" but rather believe in the law of personal responsibility. Islam teaches that each person is responsible for his or her own actions. On the Day of Judgment Muslims believe that every person will be resurrected and will have to answer to God for their every word, thought, and deed. Consequently, a practicing Muslim is always striving to be righteous.

20) Islam was not spread by the sword. It was spread by the word (Islamic teachings) and the example of its followers. Islam teaches that there is no compulsion in religion (the Holy Qur'an 2:256 and 10:99).

21) Terrorism, unjustified violence and the killing of innocent people are absolutely forbidden in Islam. Islam is a way of life that is meant to bring peace to a society, whether its people are Muslim or not. The extreme actions of those who claim to be Muslim may be, among other things, a result of their ignorance or uncontrolled anger. Tyrant rulers and those who commit acts of terrorism in the name of Islam are simply not following Islam. These people are individuals with their own views and political agendas. Fanatical Muslims are no more representative of the true Islamic teachings than Timothy McVeigh or David Koresh are of Christianity. Extremism and fanaticism is a problem that is common to all religious groups. Anyone who thinks that all Muslims are terrorists should remember that the famous boxer Muhammad Ali, perhaps the most celebrated person of our era, is a practicing Muslim.

22) The word "jihad" does not mean "holy war". Instead, it means the inner struggle that one endures in trying to submit their will to the will of God. Some Muslims may say they are going for "jihad" when fighting in a war to defend themselves or their fellow Muslims, but they only say this because they are conceding that it will be a tremendous struggle. But there are many other forms of jihad which are more relevant to the everyday life of a Muslim such as the struggles against laziness, arrogance, stinginess, or the struggle against a tyrant ruler or against the temptation of Satan, or against one's own ego, etc.

23) Women are not oppressed in Islam. Any Muslim man that oppresses a woman is not following Islam. Among the many teachings of Prophet Muhammad that protected the rights and dignity of women is his saying, "...the best among you are those who treat their wives well." (Tirmidhi)

24) Islam grants women numerous rights in the home and in society. Among them are the right to earn money, to financial support, to an education, to an inheritance, to being treated kindly, to vote, to a dowry, to keep their maiden name, to worship in a mosque, etc., etc.

25) Muslim women wear the head-covering (hijab) in fulfillment of God's decree to dress modestly. From a practical standpoint, it serves to identify one as attempting to follow God in daily life and, therefore, protects women from unwanted advances from men. This type of modest dress has been worn by righteous women throughout history. Prominent examples are traditional Catholic Nuns, Mother Teresa and the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus.

26) Arranged marriages are allowed in Islam but are not required. Whereas "forced" marriages, usually stemming from cultural practice, are forbidden. Divorce is permissible, however, reconciliation is what is most encouraged. But if there are irreconcilable differences then Islam permits a fair and just divorce.

27) Islam and the "Nation of Islam" are two different religions. Islam is a religion for all races and enjoins the worship of the one unseen God who, orthodox Muslims believe, never took human form. The "Nation", on the other hand, is a movement geared towards non-whites and teaches that God appeared in the form of Fard Muhammad in 1930 and that Elijah Muhammad (a man who died in 1975) was a prophet of God. These beliefs clearly contradict the basic Islamic theology outlined in the Qur'an. The followers of "the Nation" adhere to some Islamic principles that are mixed with many other teachings that are alien to Islam. To better understand the difference between the two, read about Malcolm X, his pilgrimage to Mecca and his subsequent comments to the media. Islam teaches equality amongst all the races (Holy Qur'an 49:13).

28) All Muslims are not Arab. Islam is a universal religion and way of life which includes followers from all races of people. There are Muslims in and from virtually every country in the world. Arabs only constitute about 20% of Muslims worldwide. Indonesia has the largest concentration of Muslims with over 120 million.

29) In the five daily prayers, Muslims face the Kaaba in Mecca, Arabia. It is a cube-shaped stone structure that was originally built by Prophet Adam and later rebuilt by Prophet Abraham. Muslims believe that the Kaaba was the first house of worship on Earth dedicated to the worship of one god. Muslims do not worship the Kaaba. It serves as a central focal point for Muslims around the world, unifying them in worship and symbolizing their common belief, spiritual focus and direction. Interestingly, the inside of the Kaaba is empty.

30) The hajj is a simultaneous pilgrimage to the Kaaba made by millions of Muslims each year. It is performed to commemorate the struggles of Abraham, Ismail and Hagar in submitting their wills to God.

KEEP YOUR POSITIVITY ALIVE

Assalamualaikum my dear readers..

Good morning, it is nearly half past six here in Jakarta. I have been awake since two hours ago, and am still now busy looking for information on the public civil servant job vacancies.
Due to the so many things needed to apply for the vacancies, I was a bit frustrated last night. Mom told me that she had watched a motivational program, and the motivator said that to be able to feel confident about yourself, we need to look at ourselves in the mirror as often as possible and say "I can do it" a lot of times. Imagine talking to a good friend and being reminded that we are good at least at one thing in life, and that nobody can be good at everything. And that anyways, we don't have to be good at something to be liked by others, right? I mean, how do you expect to please everyone at the same time.
Easy to say but hard to do. I know. I will try though :]

“Positive belief in yourself will give you the energy needed to conquer the world and this belief is the power behind all creation.”
― Stephen Richards
Even in Islam, we are taught not to be pessimistic. We are also advised not to depend on good luck or bad luck charms. why? because they are sources of evil. It can be called Shirk or Syirik in Bahasa. It simply means that we believe that there are other things that are more powerful than God. While, there isn't! I believe that Allah is the Greatest. There is not even one human being in this whole wide world who can make a creation as beautiful and simple yet very complex like a human being himself. I mean, even the best and the most expensive robot looking like a real person still looks "fake". And fingerprints. Every single human being has different fingerprints with another. Everybody knows it. But, who can imitate it?

Anyways, I believe that there are God's hands in whatever I do, and if God allows me to do well then I will do well. Insha Allah. I believe that Allah has great plans for us, think good of Him and never assume wrongly on His plans :]

A REMINDER FOR MUSLIM SISTERS

A reminder to take ourselves to account first before we look towards others.
Taken from  http://www.igotitcovered.org/

I’m standing inside the train, trying to stay steady as the vehicle swerves swiftly across the tracks.  From the periphery, I notice the glances and stares from the mostly Caucasian passengers.  No matter how many times I’ve been through this, I guess I’m still not used to it.
They’re just curious, I think to myself. They’re not judging me. They’re not judging me for what I’m wearing, for how I look to them. They don’t even know me.
And yet, we do this all the time –to each other.
Woah, do you see what she’s wearing?  Those tight jeans show her shape, astaghfirullah and she thinks she’s practicing hijab.
She’s always hanging out with guys, no matter when I see her.  Laughing, flirting, you name it, with the hijab on. You have to stay away from her—she’s a really bad influence.
Um like, doesn’t she know you can’t pray Salaat with nail polish and see-through tights on? Hello?
So I ask: what’s the difference between an observer judging us for being hijabis and a Muslim sister judging another Muslim sister?  If we can’t tolerate non-Muslims judging our religion for being extremist, violent, and all the other derogatory terms we’re fed up with, how come we can tolerate judging our own Muslim sisters?
I remember this one instance years ago when I saw a hijabi talking and laughing with a boy.  I couldn’t help but think ill thoughts of her.  Later I came to know that the boy was actually her brother, though they did not look alike at all.  I narrate this experience to show that we are so quick to judge others, to point out the faults in others without realizing that not only are we committing a very serious sin but more often than not, we may be drawing incorrect conclusions to begin with.
Just like it upsets us when others perceive us as “being forced to wear the hijab” or associated with “terrorists and extremists,” it should disturb us to judge our own fellow Muslims for being “too liberal” or “not following the Sunnah” or “the girl who talks to guys” and whatever else our minds are quick to conjure up.
We should remember that Allah alone is the judge, the Ultimate Judge, because we do not even know an ounce of what a person’s heart contains.  You may look at a sister and think—I am better than her, I pray five times a day, I fast, I don’t talk to guys, I listen to my parents, etc.—while she does the exact opposite.  But does that really make her inferior to you, a weaker Muslim?  How can you be so sure?  All I ask is, who are we to judge when we know so little?
Maybe she repented, cried to Allah for forgiveness the night before and today she has a clean slate.  For all we know, a pile of her small, but abundant amount of good deeds, may have tipped the scale in her favor.
Our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) narrated that “should you become eager to mention another’s faults, recall your own” (Ar-Rafi’i).
So when you perceive others, this hadith should serve as a reminder to reflect upon yourself and to see how you can improve as a Muslim.   Each and every one of us has weaknesses and imperfections so it would be more productive if we would focus on ourselves first.
Well, you might ask, shouldn’t I help my fellow sister out if she’s in trouble?  Well, of course, but you should seek to do so in the best way possible.  Thinking in the aforementioned way and gossiping about these conclusions isn’t going to help anybody.  Make du’a for the sister and sincerely pray to Allah to guide her.  You can take the initiative, approach the sister, and politely inform her of what she is doing incorrectly.  Maybe she will realize her mistake and thank you.  Maybe she might be hurt or angry and tell you not to interfere in her matters.  Either way, it’s up to her now and you have done what you could.  But never think she is any less than you, because again, it is between her and Allah and that relationship is sacred and unbeknownst to anyone else
I remind myself before anyone else.  We’re humans—seeking faults in others comforts us in a way, helps us feel good about ourselves because we think, thank God I’m not like that.  But Islam is what bonds all of us together so we should not be happy when a sister is struggling.  We should pray and remember that all of us are inherently weak but together can strive to become better Muslims, and thus a stronger Ummah.

IS EVERYTHING IN THIS LIFE A COINCIDENCE?

Assalamualaikum (peace be with you all) my dear blog readers...
How are you today? I wish everyone is having a great day filled with blessings.
I am so excited to blog. Why? I’ll be frank. I have been given a gift from my mom, a new laptop. Yep, a new laptop. Did i just repeat myself out loud? Yep i did :] it’s not my birthday, nor it’s my daughter’s. For no reason. Perhaps because she has been paying attention to what I’ve been like for the past 3 months being at home all of the time, and that I have not been doing anything? Haha. Not sure, though.
Well maybe because my mother knows that I’ve been getting document translation jobs :] anyways, thanks mom. You are the best. Smooch smooch from me and Kei.
This idea popped out in my head at around 2:35 Tuesday morning. I couldn’t sleep then, so i thought it would be better for me to jot down the things randomly appeared in my mind.

Is everything a coincidence? I mean, when you meet a guy/woman at a bus station whom you are going to be married to in the next five years, is that a coincidence?
When you’re reading the paper and find a job vacancy that suits you most then you apply for it and get hired and then get promoted and become the company’s CEO. Is that also a coincidence?
When you drive on the street and unluckily hits a pedestrian and s/he dies. Is that a coincidence?
One day your husband is ill, so you decide to not drive the car by yourself, and take a bus to work, and then at the bus you meet a person whom you used to date at college. Then you exchange phone numbers or BBM pins and start chatting on Line or Messenger and become really good friends (not literally :p) again.

Is everything a coincidence in our life? Tough question, especially for me. I have the lack of knowledge in answering this kind of question. I am incapable to dig deep into my brain since mine is small.. a joke, size of our brain is not linked to how clever we are :]
But well, I am a monotheist. I believe in the existence of Allah the One and Only. And I also believe that the Almighty has planned and set everything that is going to happen in everyone’s lives before s/he is even born. These plans include his/her fortune, future husband/wife, and death. That is perhaps why I believe that everything happens for a reason. We may find out the reason soon after or even long after one incident occurs. I believe that when I have tried and done the best and prayed, Allah will guide me into a path that is blessed. There is a saying, what may appear good in our eyes may actually be harmful to ourselves, on the contrary, what appears bad in a human’s eyes may actually be beneficial for our own good.

Therefore, in all incidents I’ve been through in my life so far; illness, heartache, divorce, dad’s death, being unemployed, having a child, getting a laptop from my mom, etc., I see God’s hands there. I may have been depressed during the “dark” parts of the journey, but I have always been able to pass them through and the sadness and losses eventually subsided. Alhamdulillah, praise Allah the owner of the whole universe.

How about the things we see in our everyday life? Are they also coincidences?
Name, the mountains. How can they stand tall like they do eventhough the earth moves all the time?
The Sun, how could it never grow tired of giving us its wamth?
The vaporation of rain water because of the work of the Sun which is then returned by the work of clouds and wind.
How about the oxygen we breathe since we are born until the second we pass away? How come we never lack of oxygen? Living tracks on earth are concluded to have appeared around 3,8 billion year ago, although human beings are estimated to start appearing around 100,000 years ago, still there must have been oxygen since then.
And then the sky. There may be billions of stars out there, sky objects, numerous planets in the galaxy, but everything doesn’t seem to be chaotic. It all seems to be systematically arranged.

Many theories brought up by experts on the creation of the universe. One is that there was the Big Bang which happened around 15 billion years ago. According to this theory, the universe used to be one huge atomic power and was shaped more or less like an unimaginably gigantic ball. And there was the Big Bang. There was a big explotion then there were these pieces called planets, sky objects, meteors, comets, galaxies, etc. Wallahu’alam.
A quote from Surah al-Anbiya [21]: 30 further explains this.
 21:30
Sahih International
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

Whatever it was that caused the creation of the universe, it must have been great and almighty. There could never be a coincidence there. Well, for me, i don’t think such occurence was only a coincidence.
Currently, scientists believe that in the future (nobody knows exactly when), the universe is not going to expand anymore. It will, on the contrary, shrink, and eventually become one again. They call this prediction as the Big Crunch, when there is this one HUGE blow and everything turns into one again. Perhaps, it is the Armageddon? The end of life and everything in the universe. It will end up being one black dot. Wallahu’alam (only Allah knows). Is that a coincidence?
Everything is up to you :]

Have a good day and stay happy always :]
Surah Ghafir [40] : 57
 40:57

Sahih International
The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know.

KISAH NYATA “GELEGEPAN”

Assalamualaikum (Peace be with you...)

Tapi, kalo saya sendiri tidak menganggap itu cuma sebuah gelegepan (no matter what it means).

Jadi ceritanya begini buibu,
Beberapa malam lalu, saya habis curhat sama Sang Khalik nih, abis subuh saya mutusin untuk balik tidur aja, karena kantuknya luar biasa. Padahal bagusnya sih nungguin ceramahnya ustadz Maulana sama Mamah Dedeh ya. Hehehe. Oke langsung aja. Sekitar habis subuh itu, gak lama saya ketiduran. Nah entah berapa lama, mungkin 10-15 menit, saya merasakan aneh aja.

Why I Don't Eat Pork

Assalamualaikum,
Why are muslims not allowed to eat pork?

First, simple. because it is considered Haram in Islam.

Ayah 173 of surah Baqarah reads:

"He has forbidden you only carrion, blood, the flesh of the swine, and that which has been offered to other than Allah. But should someone be compelled, without being rebellious or aggressive, there shall be no sin upon him. Indeed Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful." (2:173)

International Translation :

"He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah . But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

Second, because of the way it physically looks and smells and makes sounds when it is alive
Then, because I hate how it happily lathers itself with mud, dirt, and any horrible things we could ever imagine.

Well. Many have tried to persuade me to try some.
Seriously.
Before I decided to put on my hijab, people had always thought of me as being a non muslim. Most say i look more like either a christian/catholic or buddhist. Once said i looked like an indian.
Well. Nothing really bothered or insulted me. They were basically opinions; nothing else.

Why has pork never been in my wanna-try-meal?

Pork comes from pigs, swines, boars, something like that.
They are like a combination of a wild and a tamed animal. They eat both dead animals and also grass at the same time. They have fangs.
They are dirty animals loving to live in filthy areas.

What they do when they see a dead animal? They wait for it until it bercomes a carcass then they will eat it. Pork is eaten almost everywhere eventhough it is seriously a risky and dangerous type of food to be consumed.
Pigs will eat anything including worms, rats, garbage, their own feeces and other pigs. Check this out

Jews believe their God prohibits pork. They know it is not a good type of food.
In Old Testament of the Bible (Leviticus 11), it is also mentioned that pork/swine is not to be eaten. However, it is relatively the opposite in the New Testament. (Why? I don’t know.)

Pigs/swine/boars have a really strong sexual desire. A male pig could actually be humping his “woman” while she is eating grass. And it is also possible for them to still be having sex while they are doing a journey. A male pig can start having sex when it is eight months old.
Pigs grow really fast. When it is born it is usually around 2 kilograms, but when it reaches 6 months old its weight could have gained up to 100 kilograms.

Pigs can also infect human beings with many different diseases. Some viruses that can be spread by them can not be eliminated only by regular grilling or cooking process. One of the biggest concerns with eating pork meat is trichinellosis or trichinosis. Here's why

Perhaps it is still confusing for some people to know that Islam strongly prohibits pork, lets just put it this way.
In the past, before scientists found "bacteria" people didn't believe it existed. But however, it does exist. We wanted to see its "appearance and form." Physically.
Same with us here, believers of the only One God and nothing else, we believe the unseen. Although some things can not be seen with our very own eyes, it does not mean it does not exist. I believe the existence of Allah and that all the commands He tells us in the Holy Book are for our own good.

I am sure He TELLS us to avoid pork, and considers it as Haram because of its so many bad effects to our body, physically and mentally. Thats it.

May God protect us all, amen. have a great day :-)
